Understand
Western Montana is mostly made up of mountains, while the east is mostly plains. It is the 4th largest state, yet only 44th in population, so Montana is full of empty spaces. The mountains make for wonderful recreation opportunities of all kinds -- hiking, OHV riding, skiing, etc.
